Simply Chic Consignment Boutique remark
Simply Chic Consignment Boutique I bought these shoes based on previous ownership of a pair of Tevas, a totally different model, but a very comfortable and sure footed shoe. These looked like just the design and use I needed the new pair for: a month long trip walking and training around Europe. I also first read the reviews carefully. My earlier experience confirmed that Teva's are about 1 size too small; in other words, buy a size larger for a good fit. Since I did this, I had no size problem. But, I was too optimistic regarding the construction. My earlier pair's laces frayed to the point of unraveling which should have been a warning. Since laces are not critical and these were totally different from the Tamur laces, and since I thought, maybe an anomaly or I did something unwittingly to cause it, I ignored this experience and the warnings of other reviewers when I bought the Tamurs.Well, they have been the most comfortable, best fitting, and attractive pair of shoes I have ever worn. Mine are 71 yr old Happy Feet even after now over 6 months of nearly constant wear over a lot of concrete, woodsy trails, cobblestones, slippery rocks, and on my bike. BUT, the d....d sole treads are coming off! Almost all of a sudden! Two weeks ago they started parting with the rest of the shoe; I just noticed this before catching them on something and suffering a fall or permanent damage. I now wear them with the treads GOOP!ed back on, and am watching as new sections start to peel away. This is extremely disappointing, and like others commenting here, I will see if Teva will replace them... they really need to improve their quality control...Back again a few months later to report that after several phone calls and email, unnecessary back and forth that delayed their replacement, largely because Teva first refunded me my cost in spite of my clearly stating that I wanted replacements, I finally did get the replacements. They sent me the latest model Tamur V, with a 20% discount, and which I hope will not start to unravel. So far, after a couple of months of regular use are doing just fine and are as comfortable as my originals. Disappointingly, they are not the sand brown color I originally had and preferred, but the black olive color that was available. Because I really like the fit and style of this shoe, I am adjusting to the color. So, Teva has now earned a fourth star. It would be five if they kept their stock up and had my color, and there had been less hassle, but I think the mistakes were honest and they made an effort to keep me happy. So, maybe 4 1/2 stars?
